Sandy Hardy is the Director of Programs for Imagine Enterprises and oversees all active contracts within Imagine to including the Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (SSA-WIPA) project, covering 104 counties in West Texas, a Youth Leadership Grant, and supported-employment vendorship through Texas VR. Ms. Hardy has been with Imagine Enterprises for nine years.
She has assisted people with disabilities to be a part of their community for 30 years, with an emphasis on employment and Social Security benefits. As a national expert on Social Security Disability Benefits and Work Incentives, she currently serves as Trainer and Technical Assistance Liaison for SSA Regions 6 and 9 with Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) National Training Center.
In this capacity, Ms. Hardy provides work incentive training; technical assistance and consultation to all 42 SSA-funded Work Incentive Planning and Assistance projects in 9 states and 3 Pacific territories.
Previously Ms. Hardy has worked with the Texas Employment Project, a five-year grant project of the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities offering training and technical assistance to demonstration sites and parent support groups promoting quality employment for people with disabilities. She provided leadership regarding Social Security work incentives throughout the state of Texas as the Lead Benefits Planning Specialist for the Texas PASS Network. Sandy also directed a statewide School-to-Careers project funded through the Texas Workforce Commission where she developed a user-friendly resource guide and coordinated statewide training and technical assistance to ensure students with disabilities were included in job exploration, career training, and a smooth transition to the adult world of work. Ms. Hardy continues to offer training sessions throughout the state on behalf of transitioning students with disabilities. She is a long-term member of the Association of Person in Supported Employment (APSE).
Known for her high energy and passion, Sandy brings both to everything she is involved in to assist people with disabilities become a part of their community.
Sandy graduated from Abilene Christian University in December 2006 with a BA in Sociology and Business.
