Board of Directors

Imagine Enterprises seeks people with a broad range of professional and personal experiences to serve as members of its Board of Directors. There are no special skills or qualifications required to be a part of this innovative and energetic organization– simply a belief that employment must be a viable option for all people, especially people with significant disabilities.

The Imagine Enterprises Board of Directors supports a network of professionals whose collective experiences and skills are uniquely well-suited for the important work they do. Since 1995, with Board oversight and guidance, Imagine staff has initiated a variety of projects and activities to eliminate obstacles to employment and encourage inclusion of all people in the work force. The Board and staff share the common vision of assuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to pursue satisfying careers and lives.

"I am excited and proud to be a board member for Imagine Enterprises.

"I am a self-advocate. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience both sides of advocacy. I’ve been the person that needed the assistance, and I’ve been the person who gives the assistance. Imagine provides a great outlet for me to help people who may be experiencing problems with some of the hurdles that I’ve already crossed. One of my favorite quotes reads (paraphrased) “Don’t always follow where the path may lead, rather, you lead and make your own path.” Sometimes we need help along the way. Imagine is here to provide that help."

"I spent most of my adult life in Austin, working and playing with talented, creative and wonderful Texans. We envisioned Texas communities that cherished and celebrated all whom live there, communities with meaningful niches for everyone. Though I now teach at Columbia and live in New York City, I haven't forgotten that dream. I can continue to realize it through my involvement with the innovative, friendly and funky Texans at Imagine Enterprises."

"Imagine is a stong voice in Texas for the valuing of people with disabilities. Imagine is the voice that thinks out of the box and believes that problems of getting needed supports for people can be solved. I am proud to be a part of that voice."
