Imagine Enterprises seeks people with a broad range of professional and personal experiences to serve as members of its Board of Directors. There are no special skills or qualifications required to be a part of this innovative and energetic organization– simply a belief that employment must be a viable option for all people, especially people with significant disabilities.
The Imagine Enterprises Board of Directors supports a network of professionals whose collective experiences and skills are uniquely well-suited for the important work they do. Since 1995, with Board oversight and guidance, Imagine staff has initiated a variety of projects and activities to eliminate obstacles to employment and encourage inclusion of all people in the work force. The Board and staff share the common vision of assuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to pursue satisfying careers and lives.

"I spent most of my adult life in Austin, working and playing with talented, creative and wonderful Texans. We envisioned Texas communities that cherished and celebrated all whom live there, communities with meaningful niches for everyone. During my recent years of teaching at Columbia University in New York City and now living in Honolulu and working in mental health at the University of Hawai`i, I haven't forgotten that dream. I can continue to realize it through my involvement with the innovative, friendly and funky Texans at Imagine Enterprises."

"I believe very passionately in the right of people with disabilities to be fully included in all aspects of our society, and their right to self-determination over how they spend their lives. Being on the board of Imagine Enterprises allows me the opportunity to be part of an organization that not only believes in these values but puts them into action. My ultimate goal as a board member is to be able to contribute my knowledge and expertise in a way that translates into positive impact not only on the lives of individuals with disabilities, but in society's capacity to accept and embrace the gifts and abilities of all people. In addition, as an individual who spends his professional life in an academic setting, being on the board of Imagine is of great value to me in keeping me grounded in the realities of the day-to-day lives of people with significant disabilities, and the ongoing challenges they face in terms of full integration and inclusion."

“I love being with professionals who believe in the potential of all people (with disability); I love celebrating successes when a person (with disability)
creates what they want for themselves; I love the ability to address real
problems (not just symptoms) of a person (or within a system) and share new and innovative best practices.”
