Cheryl Harris is the Administrative Manager for the Imagine Enterprises and joined the team in December 1998.
She is the Medicaid Waiver Boot Camp coordinator that has traveled to 16 cities and provided basic training on self-determination and the Texas Medicaid Waivers where family members and others to get reliable and helpful information. Cheryl is also collaborating with newTrillium Designs on a new website for Imagine, which should rollout March 2008. Consumer Directed Services is a new field for Imagine and Cheryl is a certified support advisor. Lastly she is the recording secretary for the Board of Directors.
Previously she worked on the Texas Employment Project and the School to Careers grants, both funded through the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. She was also on the original team that created the Transition Toolkit and assisted with the recent revamping in July 2007. The toolkit was developed to ease the stress of transition for students with disabilities and their families. She worked for the Alvin Independent School District as the secretary to the Director of Special Education from which she gain significant understanding and background from working with students with disabilities and their family members, assisting the director with yearly budgets, special program applications to meet the individual needs of students, and was a part of the team that implemented the opening of a public school at a local residential facility. Cheryl holds an Associates degree from Alvin Community College.
What she likes best at Imagine is to see individuals gain the knowledge that helps them have a better and more meaningful life. Cheryl appreciates the structure, flavor, and the respect of Imagine Enterprises and its staff. It’s an awesome place to work! |
