Rosemary Burks is one of the project coordinators for the West Texas Region Youth Leadership and Advocacy project that supports 60 youth with disabilities per year to experience significant gains in leadership and advocacy skills.
Since joining the Imagine Enterprises team in November 2003 she has been a benefits planner in the West Texas Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (BPAO) Project, a five-year cooperative agreement with the Social Security Administration (SSA). Traveling throughout a 47-county region in West Texas, she explained Social Security Work Incentives that promote employment for individuals who are receiving disability benefits and she assists individuals to identify, request and submit the appropriate work incentives with the SSA, as well as providing long and short-term support and follow-up services.
Earlier in her career, Burks also has experience as an employment consultant, assisting individuals to secure gainful employment within the community. She also has experience working with teenage mothers with children with disabilities. Ms. Burks has volunteered for the school system and worked with her church youth group. Rosemary Burks is a strong advocate for assisting individuals realizes their career and personal endeavors.
Ms. Burks is a graduate from Cisco Jr. College and is currently a senior at Abilene Christian University.
