My name is Ricky Broussard, and “Get a Life” describes both my business and my life recently.

One June 5, 2007, I moved into my own apartment, after living in institutional settings since I was ten years old.  I can finally have friends and family visit (and spend the night if I want them to).  I can do thing I’ve never done before, like eat leftovers.  I can control who comes over and how long they stay. 

When I’m not enjoying my new home, I’m at work at my consulting and public speaking business, “Get a Life.” 

I also serve on many Boards and Committees, such as Texas Advocates and Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE), for which I am the representative for Region 9.

Although I’ve accomplished some important goals this year, my next goals include finding a girlfriend and buying a house.
